Rosendo Santana

Assistant Instructor - Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu HQ San Jose

Rosendo began his journey in martial arts at the age of sixteen by devoting himself to wrestling. Wrestling played an important role in Rosendo’s life and taught him many life lessons, as he states “wrestling showed me who I am and taught me I can endure any hardship thrown my way.” Looking to continue on the path wrestling instilled in him, Rosendo then turned to Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai in order to further grow and expand as a martial artist. Martial arts became his life and fully committed himself to pursue Jiu-Jitsu. Rosendo first began training Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai at what was at the time  A.K.A Fresno. Looking to further better himself not only as a martial artist, but as a person, Rosendo chose to attend San Jose State University to not only pursue his B.A. In History, but to become a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner under the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu banner. While simultaneously attending San Jose State University full-time and training at Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu, Rosendo earned his purple belt under head instructor Matt Darcy. Rosendo teaches all ages, ranging for three years old to adults. Rosendo takes great pride in his work, as he states “There is no feeling more rewarding than witnessing the transformation of our students, as they strive to reach their ultimate potential right before our eyes.”
